Vulnerable by nature, craft economies are constantly facing threats and challenges, a condition that has been exacerbated by the context of uncertainty presented by the 21st Century. As such, DFFWAC has devised a response mechanism that supplies urgent aid to be quickly and efficiently provided in emergency cases. This group of micro-projects addresses fundamental needs through design-based forms of intervention, contributing towards the short and long-term survival of female craft clusters around the world. These actions may take the form of direct commissions, the implementation of managerial strategies, finding new commercial opportunities and enhancing visibility through widespread communication and dissemination.
